Careers at Olive Tree Films

Five people work with us full time. More than 200 freelance professionals make our films with them. If you direct, shoot, produce, edit, animate or finish films, join the network we build our crews from.

The crew network

Every crew is built for the film. The right person for the job is the one we call.

Brazil, Miami and the countries where our clients film. English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Why freelancers stay with us

Most of the professionals in our network have worked with us for more than a decade, on films for brands such as KPMG, AkzoNobel, Pearson and IBM, in Brazil and abroad.

How we build a crew: one film at a time

We do not keep a fixed crew. Our five full-time team members in São Paulo plan, direct and finish every project, and each film gets a crew chosen for it: by budget, by client and by style. A training series, a commercial and a documentary interview need different people, so the crew is rarely the same twice.

That is why our network matters as much as our office. When a project comes in, we look for the professionals whose work fits its style, who are in the right city or can travel to it, who speak the languages the shoot needs and who fit the budget. Many have worked with us for more than a decade. What they share is a standard: the film has to look like an Olive Tree film, wherever it is made.

We also rely on crews outside São Paulo. In Brazil, our crews have filmed in more than 50 cities, and we now have a filming team for Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte. In Florida, our Miami productions are filmed by trusted local partner crews, with a member of our team on set. If you work in a city where our clients film, we want to know you.

Where we need you: Brazil and beyond

São Paulo is our base and the city where most of our crews are booked. Beyond it, we film most often in Brasília, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba and Belo Horizonte, and our clients take us to cities across the country, from state capitals to industrial towns and the far south.

Outside Brazil, our crew has flown in to film in 17 countries, from Mexico and Argentina to Portugal, South Africa, Kenya and Vietnam, and our US company, Olive Tree Films, LLC, produces in Miami and across Florida with local partner crews. About half of our revenue comes from clients outside Brazil, which is why we keep growing a network of professionals in the cities where international brands film. Full-time positions: rare, and published here

Our full-time team is small. Five people in São Paulo hold the creative direction, the production management and the finishing of every project, and the rest of each film is made with the network. When a full-time position opens, in production, post-production or client service, it is published on this page with the role, the location and how to apply.

Until then, the best way to work with us is the crew network. Whether you are a director of photography in São Paulo, an editor in another country or a producer in Miami, the form below is the way in.

What we look for

Three things we ask of every crew

Our brand rests on three values: competence, ambition and confidence. On set and in post-production, they become three things we look for in every freelancer.

Craft

A body of work that shows it

We choose people by their work. Send us the films, reels or stills that show what you do best, and tell us which part of them is yours.

Reliability

The call time is the call time

Many of our shoots happen in a single day, with the client watching, sometimes live from another continent. Preparation, punctuality and calm under pressure matter as much as talent.

Care

The standard does not change

Global brand guidelines, approved series looks, people on camera who are not actors. We look for professionals who treat every frame, and every person in front of the lens, with the same care.

Questions about the crew network

Short answers for freelancers and suppliers who want to work with us.

Do you hire full-time staff?

Our full-time team in São Paulo is small, with five people. Most of our work is made with freelance professionals, and full-time positions are published on this page when they open.

No. São Paulo is our base, but we film across Brazil and abroad. We want to know professionals in every city where our clients film, because a local crew often makes a shoot simpler.

Yes. Our Miami productions are filmed by local partner crews in Florida, and we work with professionals in other countries when a project films there.

Every complete application joins our crew network, and we contact you when a project matches your role, city, style and budget. Depending on the projects we have, that can take weeks or months.

Portuguese, English or Spanish, depending on the shoot. Many of our projects are for international clients, so English is an advantage on set and in post-production.

Yes. Studios, rental houses, post-production houses and local production companies can use the same form. Choose Other as your role and tell us what you offer.

Only to evaluate your profile and to contact you about projects, as described in our Privacy Policy.
